  • Summer 1983

    A note was placed in the offering plate at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Charlottesville, requesting a church plant in Harrisonburg.
  • JUNE 1984

    Sunday Morning services began at the Sheraton Inn with Ed Bradley serving as Pastor.
  • SEPTEMBER 1985

    Covenant was received into the Presbyterian Church of America. Three Ruling Elders and five Deacons were ordained.
  • NOVEMBER 1985

    Worship services were moved from the Sheraton Inn to the Seventh Day Adventist building.
  • NOVEMBER 1990

    Worship services were moved to the Blue Ridge Christian School building as Covenant continued to grow.
  • SPRING 2000

    Ground-breaking ceremony on the Mosby Road property.
  • FEBRUARY 25 2001

    Moved into the new building on West Mosby Road, where we remain today.
  • MARCH 2002

    Cov Pres church plant, Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, established in Waynesboro.
  • DECEMBER 2004

    Alianza formed as Covenant added a Spanish-language service to its Sunday worship.
  • JANUARY 2009

    Cov Pres church plant, Christ Presbyterian Church, established in downtown Harrisonburg.
  • DECEMBER 2010

    Nations and Generations: Children’s Wing addition completed.
  • PRESENT DAY 2024

    City on a Hill: Renewed vision to complete the expansion we have needed for more than a decade — adding space for hospitality, education, and bringing the staff offices home — as we WELCOME and WORSHIP in the name of Jesus Christ.
